Use profile terms to automatically populate fields on forms with information previously entered by patients.
A profile term is a key that can be assigned the value a patient inputs into a field. After the profile term is assigned, it is saved to the patient's profile. The next time the patient opens a form that has a field that has been assigned a profile term, the patient's information is automatically populated into the field; saving the patient time and keystrokes.
For instance, if you are creating a registration form, and on the form you are creating a field labeled First Name, where a patient can enter his or her first name. If you assign the First Name field to a profile term called FirstName, then the value that the patient enters into the First Name field are saved to the profile term FirstName for that patient's profile.
Later, if you create a survey form. On this form you are creating a field labeled First Name because you will need to collect this information from patients. You can assign the First Name field on this form the FirstName profile term. If a patient has a FirstName profile term saved to their profile, the value of the profile term will automatically populate the FirstName field.
