View event details

Procedure

  1. Click the event name.

    An Event Details window opens displaying the event details.

  2. You can use the paging controls at the bottom of the window to page through the details of the other events listed in the web part.
  3. To close the Event Details window, click Close.

Printing events

About this task

You can print a summary list of events from the Events web part or you can print an individual event's details directly from the Event Details window. When you print results, they are printed as PDF documents that you can open for viewing or save to your local computer.

Note: To print events, you must have Adobe Reader installed.

Procedure

  1. Do one of the following:
    • From the Events web part, click the Options menu and select Print.
    • From the Event Details window, click Print on the toolbar.

    File Download appears.

  2. Click Open.

    A PDF Print Preview window opens, displaying the list of announcements.

  3. Click Print.

    The Print Options window opens.

  4. Select your print options and then click OK.

    The list of events is printed.

  5. Close the Print Preview window.

Migrate events to your personal calendar

If you use an application with iCalendar support, you can migrate events from the Events web part to your personal calendar. Examples of applications with iCalendar support include Microsoft® Outlook®, Google Calendar™, Windows Live® Calendar, and Facebook.

Before you begin

To migrate an event to your personal calendar, you must first download the event to your local computer. The event is saved to your local computer as an .ics file. Using your calendar application, you must import the .ics file into your personal calendar. After the file is imported, the event appears on your personal calendar.

Procedure

  1. From the Events web part, click the event to view the event details

    Event Details opens.

  2. Click Add to Calendar.

    File Download opens.

  3. Click Save.

    Save As opens.

  4. Navigate to the folder where you want to save the file and click Save.

    The event is saved to your computer as an .ics file.

  5. Using your calendar application, import the .ics file into your personal calendar.
